Busy season for Nissan and NISMO with seven events in 11 days

YOKOHAMA, Japan — Nissan and #nismo are in the midst of a busy #racing schedule around the world with major events to be held in Japan, the U.S., the United Kingdom, Italy, Belgium, Australia and Canada over an 11-day period.

This weekend, the #nissan Micra Cup returns for 2017 with the opening round of the championship scheduled for Calabogie Motorsports Park in Canada.

Also, the European Le Mans Series will conduct the second round of its championship, at Monza. The entire LM P3 class is powered by #nissan.

In race action last weekend:

The Virgin Australian Supercars Championship raced at Barbagallo Raceway. The #nissan Motorsport squad had a troubled weekend, but now have their sights set on their "home" race at Winton Motor Raceway on May 21.

In the FIA WEC's final race before Le Mans, the Nissan-powered LM P1 privateer ByKolles team enjoyed a strong run to a sixth-place overall finish at Spa-Francorchamps.

And at the Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas, the ESM squad had a promising run in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race. The No. 22 Nissan-powered machine of Johannes van Overbeek qualified on the front row, and while the No. 2 machine of Scott Sharp and Ryan Dalziel looked poised to score another top-3 finish, a late-race issue kept them off the podium.
