Anderson 6th at Detroit supercross

The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory #racing Team put in work at the 12th round of the AMA Supercross series, held at #fordfield in #detroit, Michigan. #jasonanderson rode a hard race to finish sixth and #deanwilson stayed consistent with a ninth-place finish in the 450 class, while teammate #zachosborne overcame a pileup at the start of the 250SX East main to finish 18th.

Jason Anderson got a mid-pack start in his heat and moved up to seventh by the end of the first lap. He executed an impressive pass with 2.5 minutes to go and moved into sixth, then made a late race charge to finish fourth and qualify for the main. He got a top-10 start in the main and navigated into fourth before going down and coming out in 11th. He started moving through the pack and came back strong to finish sixth. He is currently fifth overall in 450 rider point standings.

“My day was ok,” said Anderson. “The night started out decent. I got a good start, but then fell, but I came back strong to finish sixth. I’m going to put in some work this week and focus on the next week’s race in St. Louis."

Dean Wilson got third at the start of his heat and immediately started charging. After swapping spots in the top four in the first lap he settled into third and continued to fight before eventually finishing fifth, forcing him to earn his transfer position through the 450 semi. He was third at the start of the semi and held on to earn third and qualify for the main. He got a mid-pack start in the main and rode strong in eighth before finishing the night in ninth. He is currently 10th overall in 450 rider point standings.

“I was top five in qualifying, so that was good,” said Wilson. “I got a good start in my heat race, which I was happy about. I was battling with Brayton, which slowed me down a bit and caused me to lose some positions. I went into the semi and got third and got into the main. I just barely saved the first corner pileup in the main. I got hit really hard and I barely stayed on two wheels. I made some quick passes then just stayed there and rode a steady and consistent race. This is my third year in the class but it’s almost like a rookie year since I’ve never done a full season . It’s good for me to just keep #racing the mains and get top-10 finishes. I’m just trying to be better every weekend."

Zach Osborne got a mid-pack start in his heat, started moving through the pack, then got caught up behind a downed rider in the sand section. He quickly regrouped and started giving chase before charging up to third for the finish. He lined up for the main looking to extend his points lead, got a great start, but then went down after getting caught in the middle of pileup. He remounted, took a quick visit to the mechanic’s area, then charged back on the track to salvage valuable championship points. He finished 18th, and is currently third in 250 SX East rider point standings.

“It was a tough night,” said Osborne. “I felt good all day and was felt great on the track. I got a really good jump in my heat race, but just didn’t get around the first turn very well. In the main I thought I would go a bit wider and then absolutely crushed the start, but then someone came from the outside and we went down and their footpeg went through my spokes so I had to do a pit stop. I’m going to regroup and focus on next week’s race in St. Louis."

The team will now make its way to The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, MO for the 13th round of the season.
