METZELER elected best tyre brand by readers of the German magazine Motorrad for the third consecutive year

The brand of the blue elephant has been awarded with the prestigious prize for the seventh year, out of a total of twelve editions, scoring 66.7% of the votes from a total of 49.641 readers taking part in the survey

Stuttgart (Germany), 17th March 2017 – METZELER has been confirmed as the most popular tyre brand among motorcyclists: winning, for the third consecutive year, the title of "Best Brand 2017 in the Category Tyres", as a result of the votes expressed by readers of the prestigious German motorcycling magazine.
The award, currently in its twelfth edition, has been awarded for the seventh time to METZELER, which had already won the 2006, 2008, 2009, 2013, 2015 and 2016 editions. Such a prestigious award is an important confirmation of how the two-wheel specialist tyre brand continues to be the reference point in the motorcycle tyre market from year to year.
METZELER was awarded with the title of “Best Brand 2017 in the Category Tyres” during the official awards ceremony which took place in Stuttgart in the evening of March the 16th. The award, presented by Michael Pfeiffer, Director of Motorrad magazine, was received by METZELER representatives Michael Müller, Sales & Marketing Director for Germany, Austria & Switzerland and Salvo Pennisi, Testing Department Director.
In its 2017 edition the survey, which is annually promoted by the German magazine, was including 21 categories. In particular the tyre category collected the preferences of 49.641 voters, who had been asked to choose their favourite tyre brand, leaving them the liberty to vote for more than one brand. METZELER has thus been acclaimed best brand in its category, collecting 66.7% of the motorcycling enthusiast’s votes, distancing the second ranked brand with a gap of 10.8 percentage points and the third with 18.5 percentage points.
The regularity by which the German-born brand continues to be awarded with such prestigious titles is an important confirmation of the commitment and passion METZELER is devoting to research and development. Providing motorcyclists with innovative solutions and setting themselves as a market reference points within their respective segments whilst at the same time continuously improving those products which are already undisputed market leaders.
Besides the important update of its tyre range which METZELER has been carrying out in the past four years and besides the success of the ROADTEC™ 01, launched at the beginning of 2016 and winner of the Sport Touring tyre comparative made by Motorrad in the same year, the outcome of the survey has certainly been influenced by the wait for the brand new tyre in METZELER’s off-road range. The MC 360™, whose market availability, starting from the month of April, has been anticipated by an exciting last testing session which has seen the new off-road tyres facing a challenging ascent to Nevado Ojos del Salado, the highest volcano in the world, located between Argentina and Chile, gaining three World records.
