Podium For Staring And The Ninja ZX-10R At A Wet Lausitzring

At a wet and cool Lausitzring on Sunday afternoon Bryan Staring (Agro-on Benjan Kawasaki) recovered from 19th place on the grid to take magnificent second place in the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup race. On what proved to be a less than ideal overall set-up for the wet conditions, pole position starter Toprak Razgatlioglu (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) slid down the order and crashed out on lap four.

The 11-lap Superstock race proved to be a tremendous return to track action for Australian Bryan Staring after a motocross training accident broke his leg before the Imola round in May, causing him to miss the majority of the season. His comeback ride found him on a strong wet set-up which he used all his experience and the wide capabilities of the Ninja ZX-10R to the great effect for second place. His German result equalled the best result of the season for a #kawasaki rider and put him up to 13th overall in the standings.

Jeremy Guarnoni (Pedercini #racing Kawasaki) was the top rider in the battle behind the podium places and secured fourth in the tricky weather conditions. He left Germany in fifth place in the championship as the top ranked #kawasaki rider, with 46 points.

As well as two of the top four machines in Germany being 2016 #kawasaki #ninjazx10rs, eight of the top 20 finishers at Lausitzring were also #kawasaki runners.

Wayne Tessels (MTM / HS Kawasaki) got into the points for 12th place and the last point on offer was taken by local rider Toni Finsterbusch (BCC-Racing Team Kawasaki), for 15th. American Bobby Fong (Agro-on Benjan Kawasaki) just missed out on a point in 16th place.

Two rounds remain in the championship, the first of which takes place on Sunday 2 October, at Magny Cours in France.

Bryan Staring, stated: “This podium means a lot to me, for a lot of reasons. I am very happy as I came from 19th on the grid. The injury this year has been the most difficult of my life and there was a lot of time spent sitting on the couch thinking about #racing, and what I could come back to. It has been a long time for me with no results but sometimes the weather, like today, can change everything and give you a result. It is really enjoyable for me and I am happy to have another podium. For what is going to be my last year in Europe I am happy to make this podium and a big result today. Thanks so much to my team who kept believing in me throughout the gap in my season and for giving me such a great bike in the wet.”
