Motul lifts the curtain on the “24 Illustrateurs” exhibition at the 24 Hours of Le Mans

Motul has always liked thinking outside the box, encouraging the creative, unconventional, talent and pioneering spirit at every opportunity.  It was in this spirit that the "St'Art with Motul" project was launched in 2010, a representation of the creative union of car, motorcycle and art.

For 62 years #motul has unceasingly been present at the 24 Hours of #lemans and the official lubricant supplier’s core values are echoed throughout the paddock, the grandstands, and all around this amazing event:  authentic, passionate, premium, specialist, brotherly and ingenious.

But one person’s molten oil is another person’s liquid gold, so what better way to show different people’s perceptions of the famous 24 Hours of #lemans than through art?

This is why, at this year’s event, #motul will be supporting as a principal partner an initiative called “24 Illustrateurs", an exhibition which will immerse you in the world of the #lemans 24 Hours through the keen eyes of 24 renowned artists.

Motul host a 150m² exhibition area in the ‘Village’ area of the Circuit des 24 Heures between 15-19 June at which members of the public can admire 24 specially created poster and meet some of the artists.  Entry to the exhibition is free of charge.  The posters are also available to view in the Centre of #lemans between 8-21 June.

Each race start is a new challenge, every creation is a new adventure.  Welcome to the world of the “24 Illustrateurs”!

Quote from Pierre Fillon, President of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (creator and organizer of the 24 Hours of #lemans:

“First seen at the first edition of the 24 Hours of #lemans in 1923, the poster of the world’s greatest endurance race has become, over the years and race after race, a highly awaited collectible. Designed by artists and now by computer graphic artists, these posters bear witness to graphical evolution and also to the changes in motorsports over the years. The ‘24 Hours of #lemans ‘poster themselves’ original initiative allows illustrators to give free rein to their imagination in drawing the 24 Hours of #lemans. This exhibition reflects the history of a legendary race and its representation by artists passionate about motorsports.”
