Formula 1 Pirelli Spanish Grand Prix – Practice – Friday

Weather: sunny/overcast and dry, 17-21°C air, 23-43°C track

The #sauber F1 Team was able to cover a good mileage during both practice sessions ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix. Felipe Nasr and Marcus Ericsson focused mainly on race preparation on medium and hard tyres. Overall today both drivers ran more than 130 laps and collected valuable data. The soft tyres will hit the track ahead of qualifying in FP3.

1st practice: 18th / 1:27.392 min (24 laps) / 2nd practice: 22nd / 1:28.501 min (42 laps)

"It was a decent day. We started off with a different set-up in FP1, which was not working as we would have hoped it would. Therefore, we reverted back to the original one for the second run. In FP2 we mainly focused on race preparation, so I did quite a lot of laps on the medium and hard compounds. It was a productive day and we learned a lot. We will see tomorrow how the qualifying pace will be."Felipe Nasr

Sauber C35-Ferrari (Chassis 03/Ferrari)
1st practice: 15th / 1:27.253 min (27 laps) / 2nd practice: 20th / 1:27.812 min (40 laps)

"It was a good Friday. We were able to work well on the set-up of the car, and I feel we are going in the right direction. We only tested the medium and hard tyres. I am satisfied with the behaviour of the car on the medium tyres, even on the long-runs. We have to see tomorrow how the car is going to behave on the soft tyres. Now we will analyse all the data collected today and see in which areas we can improve."
