Sauber F1 Team: Formula 1 Pirelli Chinese Grand Prix – Qualifying – Saturday

Weather: FP3: rainy, 19-20°C air, 20-24°C track; Qualifying: dry and cloudy, 23-22°C air, 25-23°C track. Both cars in Q2 – a decent result for the #sauber #f1team in qualifying for the Chinese Grand Prix at the Shanghai International Circuit. After the return of the qualifying format from 2015, the team will start the race tomorrow from P15 (Marcus Ericsson) and P16 (Felipe Nasr). Marcus Ericsson #sauber C35-Ferrari (Chassis 01/Ferrari) Qualifying: 15th in Q2 (1:40.742 min /supersoft tyres) 3 rd practice: 22th (no timed lap due to a hydraulic system issue / intermediate tyres / 1 lap) “I am glad we are back with the qualifying format from last year. With both cars in Q2 that was a step in the right direction. This is something we should be pleased about. In Q1 especially this was a very good effort from me making it to P13. For the race tomorrow we should have some good chances and be fighting for one or two points, because the long runs on Friday were quite promising.” Felipe Nasr #sauber C35-Ferrari (Chassis 02/Ferrari) Qualifying: 16th in Q2 (1:42.430 min /supersoft tyres) 3 rd practice: 11th (2:00.197 min / intermediate tyres / 8 laps) “First of all, I was happy we went back to the old qualifying format, which gave us another opportunity to run an extra set of new tyres. I feel like I did a pretty good lap, although I am still experiencing some issues with breaking, as I have done in the previous events. I am confident the team will solve the issue very soon. The race could be interesting with all the tyre choices, especially seeing how quickly the supersoft is degrading.”
