Arper at Salone del Mobile

Arper is an Italian company that manufactures and distributes designer chairs, sofas and
tables for contract, home and work sectors worldwide.
Arper is the outcome of an entrepreneurial project that began in 1989 as the evolution of a
small leather manufacturing company founded in the 1980s by the Feltrin family under the
direction of Claudio’s father, Luigi Feltrin, now President of the company.
Luigi Feltrin’s creativity and passion, together with the research and interest in innovation
nurtured by his sons Mauro and Claudio – the latter now Vice President and CEO of the
company – characterize a company that presently operates worldwide, with important growth targets.
In the late 1990s, #arper pursued a business plan which allowed a shift towards #design and
made the company truly B2B, with the adoption of new materials and technological solutions
and a definite change in scale. The company avails itself of the collaboration of several
designers, with whom it establishes long-term partnerships. These are responsible for the
creation of collections that truly distinguish the #arper brand.
Among the most significant collaborations, the Lievore Altherr Molina studio (Barcelona) marks
a fundamental milestone for #arper: it is the beginning of a lasting creative bond that will be
expressed through a series of new products that have become "long sellers": among these, the
Catifa chair collection includes six different versions and has sold over two million units since
2001. In 2016, the introduction of the new editions further expands the Catifa 46, Catifa 53, and Catifa Sensit collections, making it a continually evolving product.
Also born of the partnership with the #design studio based in Spain is Kinesit, Arper’s first office chair, presented in 2014 and designed with an innovative approach that is unique in the office sector. The Loop sofas and the Saya, Colina, and Duna 02 chairs were also created in collaboration with the Spanish designer studio.
Over the years, other internationally renowned designers have designed Arper’s products. The Steeve sofa, launched at the #salonedelmobile in 2015 and created in collaboration with the designer Jean-Marie Massaud, who had already designed Arper’s Aston executive chair and lounge chair; the Nuur table, designed by Simon Pengelly and winner of the Compasso d’Oro in 2011; the Aava collection, designed by Antti Kotilainen. All products that continue to gain recognition and prestige on an international level.
Alongside the evolution of its product portfolio, #arper decided to gradually focus the business
on the contract sector, which today represents around 80% of the company’s turnover. From
the onset, #arper set its sights on the international market with a strategy that went from
strength to strength over the years, thanks to the successful implementation of a management
structure that progressively consolidated with the introduction of new executives.
Today #arper is a growing company with a turnover of 55 million Euros in 2014 and 18.6%
EBITDA (with a 2015 turnover expected to reach 67 million Euros). While sales in Europe account for about 80% of the total, the company is gradually expanding into the US, the Middle East, and the Far East. Italy currently represents about 4% of total sales, compared with its turnover abroad reaching around 96%.
Arper employs around 230 people between its headquarters in Monastier di Treviso, its
subsidiaries, branches and showrooms in Italy and abroad.
With distribution in over 90 countries by an extensive network of dealers and agents, #arper is
structured into an international company that now has two subsidiaries (Arper Usa and Arper
Middle East), two branches (Arper UK and #arper Singapore) and 11 showrooms in major world
capitals: Milan, London, Cologne, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Oslo, Copenhagen, New York, Chicago and Dubai, in addition to the in-house showroom at the headquarters in Treviso.
