Hockenheim: The start of the season is fast approaching. On Tuesday, 5 April 2016, the Mercedes-AMG #dtm Team tackled the last round of testing before the start of the new #dtm season on the weekend of 6th-8th May. #lucasauer, #maximiliangtz, #danieljuncadella and #estebanocon took their places in their Mercedes-AMG C 63 #dtm cars for the first of four days of testing within the context of the official ITR tests at the Hockenheimring.Overall, the four Mercedes-AMG #dtm drivers covered 359 laps of the 4.574-kilometre circuit during the two test sessions (9 am-12 noon & 2 pm-6 pm) which equates to 1,642 km.The same four drivers will continue testing for the Mercedes-AMG #dtm Team on Wednesday before Paul Di Resta, Gary Paffett, Christian Vietoris and Robert Wickens take over on Thursday and Friday.Lucas Auer: “That was a good first day of testing with my new team, Mücke. We posted plenty of laps and had no problems whatsoever. Unfortunately, the weather was quite changeable, which is why it was important to be on the track at the right time. I'm pleased with today overall. I'm now looking forward to tomorrow when the weather should be better.”Daniel Juncadella: “It was brilliant to be back in the car. The winter break was long, and it was great to be back driving. Lap times are never truly representative in testing and in weather like this. Still, we were able to try out a lot of things and learned plenty about the new car. Hopefully, the weather will be better tomorrow.“
