Project Room #1 The Matrix of All Secrets. Andrea Cozzi, Stefano Cozzi, Marie Janssen at Fondazione Pomodoro

With the idea of the Project Room the Fondazione has put its spaces and expertise in conceiving and creating artistic projects at the disposal of a number of under 30-year-old artists, with the aim of creating an unprecedented synergy between new ideas and proven expertise. For the first event of this initiative Andrea Cozzi (1989), Stefano Cozzi (1989) and Marie Janssen (1988) will present The Matrix of All Secrets, an installation where interactions between ancient images and futuristic visions il- luminate and problemize today’s conception of the relationship between man and reality. The three artists attempt to neutralise the automatism of the era of social media – where every- thing can be found on a smartphone – starting with the most disparate cues: a Greek myth where the most excruciating pain can only be represented by a veiled face, a German proverb which proposes “telling the secrets of the stove” to circumvent oaths, a work by Marcel Duchamp where the flames of a brazier try in vain to reach 1200 bags of coal hanging from the ceiling of a room, an admonishment by the Slovenian philosopher Slavoj Žižek concerning the things that we don’t know we know.

Coal and silicon ingots, metal cages and insulation panels, a ceramic stove and fictitious archaeo- logical remains are the elements that make up the environment – made possible also thanks to the Galleria Massimodeluca – able to question the visitor on how far technological innovation, the immediacy of communication, the accessibility of information and the controversial relationship between privacy and transparency affect our ability to understand and interpret the world.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a brief text by the curator and unpublished editorial con- tent by Caterina Paganini.
For each Project Room, the Foundation will offer the possibility to take part in in-depth studies and thanks to the didactic activities organised by Franca Zuccoli and Chiara Monetti, will allow even the youngest to discover #contemporaryart

All the Project Rooms and related activities are realised thanks to the support of EasyReading Multimedia and to the collaboration of Blazing Strategies International Ltd.
