ACCIONA Energy will participate in México Windpower 2016, the biggest wind power sector fair in the country

The company will be a kilowatt sponsor in the #event, which will take place on February 24th and 25th in the Banamex Convention Center in Mexico DF.

For the fifth consecutive year #acciona Energy will take part in the most important wind power fair in Mexico: México Windpower 2016, organized by the Mexican Wind Power Association (AMDEE), GWEC and E.J. Krause.

ACCIONA's presence and activity at the Fair

This year it will be present as a Kilowatt sponsor, making it one of the most prominent companies at the #event. On Stand 406, #acciona Energía will display its position in the wind power sector in Mexico, a country in which it has been a sector leader since 2009 with 556.50 MW owned and operated and 303 MW installed for customers. The company will also present its approach to new businesses, combining its role as a producer and marketer of renewable energy, plus its star EPC project to date: the Ventika Wind Power Project .

A novelty this year is that visitors to the stand will have the opportunity to make a virtual visit to an AW3000 wind turbine through the Reality Capture online platform developed by the R&D+i Department of the #acciona Group. It creates a digital representation of the turbine in 3D images and 360º photographs.

Via two iPad stations it is possible to visit both the interior and the exterior of the nacelle and the base of the tower. This novel experience will allow our customers and other visitors to get to know the AW3000 wind turbine close up in great detail.

On Wednesday 24th February #acciona Energía Mexico Director Miguel Ángel Alonso will moderate the main session of the conferences titled The future of the wind power sector in Mexico and the world.

Our more social face

This year #acciona will also highlight the great work done in the field of #corporate Social Development (CSD) in Mexico. With 23 million pesos invested, numerous activities and over  30,000 beneficiaries, the company is a reference point in the creation and management of programs that contribute to social well-being, sustainable development and create value in the local communities it operates in. The company has received a number of national awards for these activities.

In this area we would highlight the exhibition on ACCIONA’s stand of the mini wind turbine prototype developed by the Universidad del Istmo under a training program in wind power technology promoted by #acciona Energía and the UNISTMO. Students working on the project will be present to explain the characteristics and benefits of the installation of this type of turbine.
