Maserati in Korea: record sales topping 1000 units in 2015

Korea emerges as the one of the most important markets for Maserati, becoming one of the top 5 largest markets in the world; a special customer handover was organized to mark the occasion

Maserati achieved record sales in the Korean market, crossing the threshold of 1,000 units sold this year. The car number 1,000, a Maserati Quattroporte 350 hp, has been consigned to Mr. Mr. Hak Kyu Lee; the ceremony took place in the luxurious setting of the Gangnam Showroom in Seoul, and the delivery has been personally carried out by FMK Corp’s CEO, Mr. Kwangcheol Kim, who also presented the special customer with a trophy engraved with Mr. Lee’s name and the congratulatory remarks, with a special gift.

In this way Korea emerges as the one of the most important markets for Maserati, becoming one of the top 5 largest markets in the world. In 2014, the year celebrating the brand’s Centennial, Maserati caught the attention of the automobile industry with its whopping 469% growth in Korea, making the country one of Maserati's most important markets in the world ranking globally within the top 5. Within less than a year following its remarkable growth in 2014, Maserati again lived up to its brand reputation, posting sales of over 1,000 units.

Ghibli, the brand’s first sedan segment executive saloon, revved up the growth momentum behind the record sales of 1,000 units, constituting the best seller among the Brand’s line-up of models. Both the gasoline and Diesel versions showed strong sales with their Italian design and powerful driving performance. The Quattroporte, Maserati flagship luxury sedan, has also contributed to the achievement of this important milestone together with GranTurismo and GranCabrio, the models representing the traditional sporting soul of the Italian brand.

The outstanding sales were also fuelled by Maserati's endeavour to communicate the brand's value and philosophy to a greater audience. This has been possible mainly due to the success of its plan aiming to expand the Country dealer network, which has included the simultaneous opening of new showrooms and #service centres in 4 key regions. Gwangju, Daegu, Daejeon and Seocho (Seoul) are the new additions to the showrooms and #service centres already established in Gangnam (Seoul), Busan and Bundang, bringing the total number of points of sale in the Korea to seven.

Maserati expects to see a further increase in sales towards the year-end with its introduction of the Quattroporte, the luxury flagship saloon, equipped with the new 350 hp engine.

FMK Corporation, the official importer of Maserati in Korea, said they will "sustain its growth in the Korean market by presenting models with powerful performance and Italian style and implementing marketing strategies that will capture the eyes and ears of the customers based on the 'relentless challenging spirit' of the Maserati brothers’ DNA".
