BASTIANINI AND LOCATELLI READY TO POWER THROUGH THE HEAT AT SEPANG
The Sepang International Circuit hosts this weekend the Malaysian Grand Prix, the penultimate round of the 2015 Moto3 World Championship Moto3: after an unlucky Australian Grand Prix, during which he was involved in a crash with 9 laps to go, Enea Bastianini is determined to fight to recover the second position in the Championship, now occupied by Portuguese Miguel Oliveira.
The other Gresini #racing Team Moto3 rider, Andrea Locatelli, who was forced to pit with 8 laps remaining at Phillip Island due to his physical conditions, will try instead to put in more kilometers to continue the difficult recovery from the tailbone injury suffered last September 12th at Misano in order to get fit for the season finale in Valencia, scheduled for 8 November.
ENEA BASTIANINI
“Sepang is another track where I raced for the first time last year and where I found myself immediately quite at ease: in fact, after a mistake in the first part of the race, I managed to recover well to enter the top ten. Surely after the disappointment of Phillip Island I have a great desire to bounce back and I’m convinced that we have everything in place to do well. Given the heat, it will be important to try to face the practice sessions in the most relaxed way as possible, in order to not get tired ahead of Sunday’s race”.
ANDREA LOCATELLI
“After the great performance at Motegi, where I have been facilitated by a shortened race and by the wet conditions, at Phillip Island I faced my first full dry race after a lot of time and unfortunately my physical condition didn’t allow me to reach the finish line. During these days I trained to prepare for the race in Sepang, but we need patience and we must be realistic: this weekend we will find a very hot weather and it won’t be easy. However, I will try to adapt to the conditions and give my best, as always”.
FAUSTO GRESINI
“In the last three races we only got a few points, losing the second position in the championship, so now our priority is not to give up: we want to face these last two races at the best to try to get it back, even if we are a little worried about Enea’s physical conditions, whose left shoulder is not one hundred percent. Locatelli will continue his recovery from the injury, hoping that his condition will improve compared to Australia”.
