Eco Picture of the week: Deep blue reefs of the Red Sea

This beautiful satellite "true color" shows the coral reefs of the Red Sea off the coast of Saudi Arabia.
This vast and desolate area, located in the far northern corner of the Red Sea, is bordered to the east by the mountains of Hejaz. On this once intersected ancient routes that played a vital role in developing many of the most important civilizations of the region.
