EMMANUELLE LAINÉ - Where the rubber of our selves meets the road of the Wider World

Press release available only in original language.
“The point is to use architecture as a mental prosthesis and to speak out in a non-linear way, based on a set of recently acquired data and information. My installations show up several versions of the same situation, face to face. I see them more and more as spaces in which objects come under the same conditions of varied existence (shown directly, photographed, or lmed). Their presence then becomes an accumulation of all such realities.” 1  Emmanuelle Lainé

After Ulla von Brandenburg, Sheila Hicks, Isabelle Cornaro and Shana Moulton, it is now the turn of the French artist Emmanuelle Lainé to invest the Païpe space, on level 1 of #palaisdetokyo
#emmanuellelaine is producing a huge trompe-l’oeil in the form of a freeze-frame. Made up of successive shots, superimpositions and impertinent shifts, this original installation has been inspired by the thoughts of numerous theorists about the gure of the cyborg and machine bodies.
Curator: Claire Moulène
Emmanuelle Lainé’s in situ piece for #palaisdetokyo is conceived in association with her solo show ‘Incremental Self / Les corps transparents’ (curated by Mélanie Bouteloup) which opens in March 2017 at Bétonsalon - Centre d’art et de recherche, Paris.
