Second Place Finish In France For Toprak And The Ninja ZX-10R

Comunicato Stampa disponibile solo in lingua originale.

The second podium placing in succession for the #ninjazx10r in the FIM Superstock 1000 FIM Cup came at Magny Cours On Sunday 2nd October, thanks to a strong ride from Toprak Razgatlioglu (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing).

Toprak’s second place on a dry track saw him just 3.647 seconds from the winner and was earned despite having to start ninth on the grid after qualifying. This was his first podium result since joining the Stock 1000 class this year.

Following on from the second place achieved by Bryan Staring (Agro-on Benjan Kawasaki) in wet conditions two weeks ago in Germany the 2016 Ninja delivered once again - and in very different circumstances - proving the new machine’s adaptability and overall performance.

This was the third podium placing of the year by a #ninjazx10r rider – all second place results - after Jeremy Guarnoni (Pedercini #racing Kawasaki) scored the very first, in the second round of the championship at Assen in April.

In the points, Guarnoni is the highest ranked Ninja rider, fifth overall, after also finishing fifth in his home round at Magny Cours this weekend. Just three points behind Jeremy is Toprak, in sixth place, despite only riding in five races so far due to an early season injury.

After a confident run to ninth place in Sunday’s race by Gregg Black (MTM / HS Kawasaki) three Ninja riders scored top ten finishes at Magny Cours.

Staring was unable to repeat the wet weather mastery shown in Germany in dry conditions in France, but he finished 14th, moving up three places from his qualifying position.

Just outside the points in 16th, Irishman Jack Kennedy was a first time rider for the Agro-on Benjan Kawasaki team.

As the Superstock series is only run at European rounds the final race of the championship – round eight – will be held in two week’s time at Jerez in Spain.

Toprak Razgatlioglu, stated: “I wanted to win the race but it was difficult after starting from row three. I am happy to make the podium here, and this is my first one. It was a good result but for sure the races can be better than this in the future.”
