IAA premiere: Caddy Edition 35 from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles

Hannover, 9 September 2016 – Commercial Vehicles #iaa 2016 in Hannover: the new #caddy Edition 35 celebrates its world #premiere both as a panel van and as a family van. The special edition marking the 35th anniversary of the #caddy is designed to appeal to the self-employed as well as young families, who value styling and a certain sportiness in addition to the functional benefits of a #caddy. From 22 to 29 September 2016, also the unique natural gas-powered #caddy TGI with DSG can be seen at the #volkswagen Commercial Vehicles' stand in Hall 12 of the trade fair along with many other innovations.
In addition to its many equipment options, the highlights of the new #caddy Edition 35 are various design elements specific to Edition 35, such as fully painted add-on parts and logos on door sills, doors and rear. The most striking of these has to be the different-coloured roof in high-gloss black, which strongly contrasts with the five exterior colours you can choose in Candy White, Cherry Red, Indium Grey, Reflex Silver or Acapulco Blue. New seat covers with carbon look and leather features with contrasting coloured stitching give the interior of the #caddy Edition 35 a sporty touch. The customer can choose from 13 different engine/gearbox variants, from the small TSI petrol model or the 1.4 l TGI to the different strengths of 2.0 l TDI diesels, with either manual or DSG automatic gearboxes. There are even two all-wheel versions available: the 2.0 l TDI with 90 kW / 122 PS and six-speed manual gearbox or a 110 kW / 150 PS diesel with six-speed DSG.
As a family van, the new #caddy Edition 35 is based on the Comfortline features, and as an urban delivery van and craftsman model on the panel van version of the #caddy. These include a leather multifunction steering wheel, DSG automatic transmission including shift paddles, available as an option, smoked rear lights, 17" 'Madrid' alloy wheels, black machine-polished wheels, and a black high-gloss roof rail. Likewise, the standard specifications of this stylish special model include electrically folding door mirrors, LED interior lighting, the Connectivity package with telephone interface in combination with the Composition Colour (in the family van/car) or Composition Audio (in the panel van/commercial vehicle) radio systems, and the decorative strip on the switch panel for the comfort functions in 'Dark Silver Brushed'.
The #caddy Edition 35 can be ordered in Germany from November as a panel van with the economical 1.2 l TSI engine with 62 kW / 84 PS at a starting price of €18,750.00 net (€22,312.50 including VAT) and will be available in spring 2017. The prices of the family van variant of the Edition 35 with 1.0 l TSI engine with 75 kW / 102 PS start at €22,455.00 net (€26,721.45 including VAT). The #caddy Edition 35 in sporty style is only available with a short wheelbase.
The new Edition TGI, a #caddy alternatively powered with CNG1 is also on show at the #iaa in Hannover. The #caddy Edition TGI also offers a unique combination in its class: a natural gas engine with a comfortable six-speed DSG, so that driving pleasure and comfort do not fall by the wayside even with low emissions. An attractive interior and infotainment system make this sustainable package unique. The #caddy Edition TGI is available with a short wheelbase and as a Maxi version.
A particular strength of the #caddy Edition TGI: with a range of about 630 kilometres in pure gas mode or as much as 860 km with the Maxi, the #caddy Edition TGI with its 6-speed manual gearbox achieves the best value in its class. It achieves this long range with a combined consumption of 4.1 kilograms per 100 kilometres or 4.3 kg for the Maxi. The cargo area of the #caddy with up to 3,200 litres or 4,130 litres in the #caddy Maxi remains unchanged due to the underfloor storage of the gas tanks.
In Germany, the new #caddy is available immediately as a panel van in the Edition TGI with a 1.4 l engine and 81 kW / 110 PS at a starting price of €20,890.00 net (€24,859.10 including VAT). Prices for the #caddy Edition TGI as a panel van with DSG start at €22,615.00 net (€26,911.85 including VAT). The passenger car version of the #caddy Edition TGI starts at €22,820.00 net (€27,155.80 including VAT) with manual six-speed gearbox and at €24,520.00 net (€29,178.80 including VAT) with DSG. The long version as the #caddy Maxi Edition TGI is an extra €2,230 (€2,653.70 including VAT).
