The magic of Monza: Monza followed Spa-Francorchamps, and the second classic within a week was really something. A number of records were broken on the way to the eighth one-two win of the season for the Silver Arrows. Lewis Hamilton dominated Saturday by taking his seventh pole of the season. Posting a fantastic lap, he secured his 56th pole position in Formula 1 and his fifth at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, matching the record set by the two F1 legends, Juan Manuel Fangio and Ayrton Senna. This was Hamilton's third pole in a row in Italy. Race Sunday was Nico Rosberg's big day. His seventh victory of the season was also his first on the historic track at Monza's royal park. With his 21st grand prix victory, he overtook his childhood idol Mika Häkkinen, who has 20 Formula 1 victories to his name, the same as Kimi Räikkönen.

International trends: It's that time of year again. The 56th International Consumer Electronics show, the IFA Internationale Funkausstellung, has opened its doors in Berlin, 2nd - 7th September. Mercedes-AMG DTM driver Gary Paffett spent two days at the world's largest trade fair for consumer electronics where he signed autographs at the EURONICS stand and talked cars with visitors. Of course, his EURONICS Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM car had to be there too. During the weekend, the EURONICS Trendcar, a Mercedes-AMG C 63 in EURONICS livery, cruised the streets of the capital, giving rides home to tired trade fair visitors.

24-Hours of Barcelona: With drivers Brice Bosi, Maximilian Buhk, Willem Paulys de Pundert and Bernd Schneider, HTP Motorsport secured fourth place overall and third in the A6-Pro class in the penultimate race of the Hankook 24-hr series, the 24-Hours of Barcelona. Roland Eggimann, Christiaan Frankenhout, Kenneth Heyer and Chantal and Michael Kroll crossed the finish line in fifth position. They also secured second place in the A6-Am class, driving the 10 SLS AMG GT3 fielded by Hofor #racing. That puts Hofor #racing in an excellent position in the championship ahead of the final race, the 24-Hours of Brno (15th -16th October), as they lead both team and drivers' championships in their class. Chantal Kroll is already certain of victory in the Ladies Cup.

Three questions for Paul Di Resta

Paul, Moscow was a roller-coaster of emotions for you with second place in the first race and then an action-packed second round, in which you finished 20th. What thoughts do you have regarding the two races and the incidents that took place now that two weeks have passed?
Paul Di Resta: Saturday's race was decent. After that, we were looking forward to securing another good result on Sunday, feeling relatively confident. Unfortunately, I had some problems with traffic in the second qualifying. I wasn't quite able to get it together in the race after making a strong charge following the pit stop, which was a shame. That was my fault. I made a mistake, which led to a contact with Timo Glock in a scrap. That cost me some valuable points. Hopefully, I can make amends next weekend.

Next stop Nürburgring. How do you expect to do?
Paul Di Resta: We can approach the weekend feeling optimistic. Our performance should be good enough to fight back. We should be able to get the car to perform well with the help of our engineers, I hope, and achieve another good team result. I was second last year at the Nürburgring. I now hope to produce two equally strong results this weekend.

You are currently 38 points down on the championship leader. Do you still regard yourself as a championship contender?
Paul Di Resta: Absolutely.
