Team #suzuki Press Office – June 7.

Team KAGAYAMA #suzuki #asia riders #noriyukihaga and #patischooprathet improved their lap-times and finishing positions in Sunday’s second race of the #asia Road Race Championship at Suzuka Circuit in Japan, but ultimately found it a tough weekend overall.

Haga, riding the 41 #suzuki GSX-R600, started from the 16th on the grid in Saturday’s damp opening race and finished 12th, while Chooprathet (98), starting from 24th, finished 21st.

In the 17-lap #arrc Supersport 600 second race, both riders recorded good starts with Haga positioning himself at the back of the second group; and in the final stages, moved himself up, taking the chequered flag in eighth position. Chooprathet rode a similar race, upping his pace in the final laps, to finish 17th.

Round 4 of the 2016 FIM #asia Road #racing Championship is scheduled to be held on August 5-7th at Sentul International Circuit in Bogor, Indonesia.

Patis Chooprathet:

“In the five-way pack I was in, I followed the rider that seemed to be able to move up. I succeeded and was able to move-up my position as well. I made the wrong tyre choice, so my lap-time was not what I expected and I needed to control my machine. It was a tiring day for me.”

Noriyuki Haga:

“The loss of grip on the track due to the rain in the morning did not help me have a good feeling with the bike and the race became a tough one for me. But I did the best I can do this weekend. The team and I know what needs to be done, but that was nothing we can do at the track. I will try to develop my bike by running steadily at the next event.”

Yukio Kagayama – Team Manager:

“Patis ran the race with his best laps of the weekend and battled his way up and he will profit from this experience in the future. He is improving session after session, and we hope to keep supporting him so that he can keep on improving.
“I thank Haga for the single-finish and I am happy that he did. We still have many things we need to do, and the team will do our best for the race in Indonesia.”
