Jonny Walker took a 1-1-2 result in the three separate finals on his KTM 250 EXC-F and was second in the Superpole. He leaves the round with 59 points to take an eleven-point lead over fellow #ktm factory rider American Cody Webb. Webb was third behind Colton Haaker after a 6-4-1 race result in the open-air race venue.

Walker: “It’s almost a prefect night. Two races wins and a second place result for the overall victory is great. But to then take control of the championship lead by eleven points is just incredible. Tonight was nearly all about the starts and riding smart. I managed to do that in race one and two. Then I had a bad start in race three but fought my way up to second. It feels awesome to lead the championship and I can’t wait to race in Brazil next weekend.”

It was not a happy night for Webb, winner of the first two rounds. In race one he had a bad start and as the nature of the track inclined towards one line, it was difficult to recover. He rode well in race two but had a big crash on the log jump and did well to be able to scramble back into the action.

Webb: “I’m a little bummed to be honest. I just didn’t have a good night. I made some silly mistakes, had a couple of bad starts and one big crash in race two. Thankfully I regrouped to win the final race and salvage third overall. It’s tough to lose control of the points race but I’m not going to dwell on that too much. I’ll be on the attack again for Brazil.”

#ktm factory rider Alfredo Gomez of Spain was fourth and USA team counterpart Taylor Robert took the fifth slot.

#ktm riders took five of the top six spots but unfortunately team stalwart Taddy Blazusiak of Poland was on this occasion not among the leaders. Blazusiak recently fractured his thumb in training and although he attempted to race, he had to withdraw, saying: “It’s just not possible to hold on, I just can't control the bike like the way I know I should and it’s safer to stop. It’s disappointing, I really tried to make something happen here but unfortunately I can’t. I’m gutted to have to sit this one out.”  Blazusiak will also not race in Brazil and flies back to Europe this week.

In the Junior Class, #ktm rider Manuel Lettenbichler of Germany finished third with a 3-5-2 race result on his KTM 300 EXC but still holds a 29-point lead in the championship. He won the first two rounds.

The round at Pinamar, a beach resort 250km south of Buenos Aires was the first time Argentina had hosted the competition. #superenduro action continues in Belo Horizonte, Brazil next weekend before returning to Europe for the final two rounds, first in Prague and then the final at the Bull Ring in Madrid, Spain.
