It is not all that long since a BBQ consisted of little more than simply grilled sausages. Today, however, the BBQ has become a playground for new culinary specialities – all over the world. The options are endless, ranging from USA-inspired pulled pork, grilled at a low temperature for hours and now found enriching the street markets of every city, to Brazilian or South American BBQs with their focus on meat, to sophisticated creations involving fish and vegetables. Even fruit appears on the grill. With so many possibilities, a simple dinner plate is no longer enough. Villeroy & Boch has therefore rethought the design-side of BBQs and developed the BBQ Passion collection, providing high-quality tableware suitable for absolutely every kind of BBQ enjoyment.

Even more intelligent BBQ innovations

For 2016 the existing BBQ Passion range is being extended to include a generous fish plate, a vegetable plate and a bowl for BBQ potatoes, catering for the growing number of health-oriented gourmets and vegetarians. A new highlight is a cooling and heating board. The board itself consists of high-quality acacia wood. An appropriately sized ceramic cover plate of Premium Porcelain is heated or cooled as desired and placed on the platter. Hot food thus stays warm for longer and cold food remains chilled– wonderfully practical!

Professionally served: the BBQ Passion speciality plates

BBQ Passion also offers steak plates in the sizes XL, L and M with separate areas for barbeque sauces, dips or accompaniments, and a dessert plate. All the plates feature an integrated grip making them particularly easy to carry around the garden or the terrace. The long plates with separate areas for sauce or accompaniments and the large meat platter are designed with ridges to allow meat juices to drain away. This allows the carved meat to remain moist without getting soggy. The sausage plate with its separate area for mustard enables grilled sausages to be eaten in style even while standing. The collection is completed by a condiment dish with three divisions, a little grill pan, a wooden carrier for standard-size sauce bottles, and a dip bowl, four of which can be arranged in a wooden holder to create a tray stand.
