  • The company has received two new orders for the supply of a total of 98 MW in #china.
  • The first order entails the supply of 24 G90-2.0 MW turbines (48 MW) at the Cangfang wind farm, which is 3,400 metres above sea level.
  • The other encompasses delivery of another 50 MW for phase two of the Senjitu II complex.

Gamesa, a global technology leader in wind #energy, has received two new orders in #china for the supply of a total of 98 MW to two developments: it will install 48 MW at Canfang, a development located at a height of 3,400 metres for which #gamesa will use wind turbines especially configured for high altitudes, and another 50 MW at the Senjitu II complex.

The first order, placed by renewable #energy player Concord New #energy (CNE)1, encompasses the supply and installation of 24 G90-2.0 MW turbines (48 MW) at the Cangfang wind farm being built in county Huize, located in the province of Yunnan in southern #china. The turbines to be installed at this wind farm, which is 3,400 metres above sea level, are configured to withstand the low temperatures and low air density conditions typically encountered in some regions of south-west #china.

These turbines are due for delivery in May so the project can be commissioned during the second half of the year. This is Gamesa's first order from CNE.

Elsewhere, the company has sealed an agreement with Hebei Construction & Investment Group (HCIG) for the supply, installation and commissioning of 25 of the firm's G97-2.0 MW turbines at phase two of the Senjitu II wind farm, located in the province of Hebei, in south-west Peking. #gamesa already supplied 50 MW during phase one of this project.

This firm order falls under the scope of a master agreement for the supply of a total of 150 MW entered into by the two companies in September 2014, whose third and last phase is expected to materialise during the first half of this year. Since 2008, #gamesa has signed orders for the supply of 300 MW to HCIG, the largest operator in the province of Hebei and a top ten player at the national level.

Gamesa's presence in #china, where it has emerged as one of the leading non-Chinese OEMs, having installed over 3,900 MW, dates back 15 years.
