Gebo Cermex - 3 packers “eating” more than 12 tons of cheese per hour!

The Packing Business Unit have recently installed 3 machines handling flow wrap of cheese blocks, packed into either wraparound cases or display tray for a major dairy company. Each machine is capable of handling more than 4 tons of cheese/hour!

2 machines are equipped with a robotic grouping system and the following features:

  • A new version of FlowDesigner™ (software for the products and cases flow management)
  • A lane divider system for dividing on 2 lanes the flow wrap of cheese block coming at 133ppm
  • 2 robots working with tracking on products, each equipped with multi-pick gripping head, which grips successively 3 products on the flow before stacking them on “V” shape support
  • Batches are then transferred into the case by a servo driven shuttle
