WRX - Team Peugeot Hansen targeting Canadian success

There will be no summer holidays for Team Peugeot Hansen this year, since it will be business as usual on August 7-8 in Canada, home of Round 7 of the 2015 FIA World Rallycross Championship. Davy Jeanney and Timmy Hansen have every intention of maintaining the head of steam they have built up over the past two months. World-class rallycross heads across the Atlantic for the first time this year to kick of the second half of the 2015 championship which is proving extremely close. The trip to Canada calls for slick logistics, of course, and Team Peugeot Hansen shipped its PEUGEOT 208 WRXs and equipment from Goteborg just four days after its podium success on home soil at Höljes. Everything will then be flown back to Europe after the race in order to be up and running in time for the ensuing round in Norway. The WRX fraternity will be the star guests at the Grand Prix de Trois Rivières which is situated halfway between Quebec and Montreal. For a whole week, the course in the town will serve as the epicentre of a packed programme of motorsport action, including the Canadian NASCAR series. Last year, the rallycross fixture here ran to a trial timetable of just one day, but this time it will revert to the championship’s more familiar two-day format – Friday and Saturday. With one outright victory, seven heat wins and five podium finishes (including first and second places at Estering, in June) under its belt so far this season, Team Peugeot Hansen will be out to provide further evidence of the speed of its PEUGEOT 208 WRXs at Trois Rivières which boasts the longest straight of the championship. The Franco-Swedish outfit came third at the Canadian clash in 2014. It is eager to improve on that result this time round and perhaps move up from second place to take the provisional lead in the Teams’ standings. Kenneth Hansen, Team Principal “Given that our drivers were first over the line in the last two finals, we really couldn’t be more fired up ahead of the next round in Canada. As always, we will do everything in our power to have fun and win. The organisers have taken on board the lessons of last year’s event to provide an even better track. The last jump has been dropped and the cars should suffer less.” Rallycross action from Trois Rivières will be broadcast in more than 120 countries worldwide. The semifinals and final will be shown in France on L’Equipe 21, and in Sweden on TV10.
