Expo 2015 - The charter of Milan on tour around Italy with extra virgin olive oil

The Charter of Milan leaves the Universal Expositon to embark on a tour around Italy with Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The tour was announced today at Expo Milano 2015 by Enrico Lupi, President of the Natonal Cità dell'Olio Associaton, Massimiliano Tarantno, Chief Editor of the Charter of Milan and Director of the Expo Workshop, and Roberto Ardit, director of Insttutonal Business at Expo 2015 S.p.A.. They were joined by the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Matera, Angelo Tortorelli and the Councillor for Agricultural and Forestry Policies of the Basilicata Region, Luca Braia. “Unitng Expo with territories through the Charter of Milan is essental if we are to further raise awareness about a central theme such as food security”, stated Minister Martna in a message sent to the partcipants of today's meetng. “Girolio will therefore help to encourage citzens to undertake concrete commitments designed to promote the right to food, combat food waste and protect resources such as earth and water. It is partcularly important –the Minister’s message contnues– that this all happens as part of an initatve designed to promote a product that is one of the cornerstones of the Mediterranean diet, such as olive oil which, afer a complicated year, we want to help relaunch”. “The presentaton of Girolio Italy at Expo– commented President Enrico Lupi – has a deeply symbolic meaning: the theme of the Expositon refects our objectves for promotng the traditons linked to the historical memory of territories, for promotng and protectng the environment and the olive groves, by spreading the history and culture of olive oil. Therefore, I hope that endless queues of people will turn up to sign the Charter all over the Country”. The tour of the Charter of Milan with Girolio d’Italia will depart on the 10th of July from the city of Matera, in Basilicata, then stop in Molise in Macchia Valfortore-Sant'Elia a Pianisi-Colletorto from the 31st of July to the 2nd of August, proceeding in Abruzzo to Cità Sant'Angelo on the 5th and 6th of September and in Campania to Oliveto Citra on the 12th. There are five dates scheduled for October, startng from Corato in Puglia on the 3rd and 4th, then Lombardy at Monte Isola – Marone on the 10th and 11th, Parma on the 17th, Foligno, Umbria from the 23rd to the 25th and on the 30th of October at Arco - Riva del Garda. There will also be three dates in November, with Liguria on the 15th and 16th in Imperia, the 20th and the 21st in Illasi, Veneto and the 28th and 29th in Tuscany in Rosignano Maritmo.
