All-New ASIMO, the latest generation of Honda’s humanoid robot, made its first public appearance in Europe this week.
The robot, which features improved agility and intelligence technologies, travelled to Russia to attend the Moscow International Automobile Salon (MIAS 2014), providing the gathered crowds with the first opportunity to see the cutting-edge robot anywhere on the continent.
MIAS 2014 is the leading event in the Russian automotive calendar. Held at the Crocus Expo IEC exhibition centre in the Russian capital, the motor show is open to the public for nine days and spans eight halls over 120,000 square meters. 50 automotive manufactures, including Honda, are featured at the show, all showcasing their latest models and concepts to more than one million visitors who are expected to attend.
The All-New ASIMO will be performing 68 shows on Honda’s stand whilst at this year’s event, each offering spectators a chance to see a full demonstration of its enhanced capabilities and a wider showcase of Honda Robotics. These include improved running and walking speeds, a seamless ability to climb stairs and better balance and posture control technologies, allowing All-New ASIMO to jump and even hop on one foot.
