Opel Romania: 600 Movano Buses for Schoolchildren

Opel in Romania has won a public bid to provide 600 Opel Movano Trabus vehicles, the largest fleet of school buses the company has ever delivered. On a local scale, this is the automotive event of the greatest magnitude since the beginning of the economic crisis. It is also of particular significance as it involves the newly organized light commercial vehicle business.

The handover of the first batch of 100 cars took place during a press event hosted by the government in downtown Bucharest. Press and officials were informed about the small cities and villages where the cars will make it possible for children to attend school. The 600 Movano Trabus headed to the country’s rural areas are converted for 16+1 passengers, providing 9,600 children safe and comfortable transport to school.

Romania’s Prime Minister, the Minister of Development, the Minister of Education and media representatives met the mayors and school bus drivers from the first 100 villages that will be using the Opel cars to transport schoolchildren. Handovers of the other 500 cars will follow shortly. The local Opel organization delivered the buses according to plan in staggered phases to ensure a smooth start to the school year...
