Prestigious Win for Tong Thai at the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai at Time Out Restaurant Awards 2014

Tong Thai at the JW Marriott Marquis was publically hailed as the Best Thai Restaurant in Dubai 2014.

La Farine Café and Bakery also received a Highly Commended award for Afternoon Tea while Rang Mahal by Atul Kochhar received two Highly Commended awards for Best Indian restaurant and Best Romantic Restaurant in Dubai.

The highly coveted Time Out Restaurant Awards recognise talented chefs and gastronomic excellence in the region, selecting the most outstanding restaurants in the city for the annual honour. Over a course of 12 months, Time Out’s team of culinary journalists and reviewers dine anonymously at hundreds of eateries and debate which restaurants deserve the prestigious title.

The iconic Emirates owned JW Marriott Marquis hotel had a number of nominations at the black tie event, including Prime 68 in the Best Steakhouse category, La Farine Café and Bakery in the Best Afternoon Tea category, Rang Mahal by Atul Kochhar, in the Best Indian category and Best Romantic category and Tong Thai in the Best Thai category. The winning restaurant Tong Thai is a stunning setting with magnificent water features, hundreds of hanging lanterns and an array of authentic Thai cuisine served with traditional Thai hospitality.

These awards herald a new year for the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, building on the astonishing 16 awards won by the hotel in 2013. The 16 international industry and media awards included a number of food and beverage titles; BBC Good Food Executive Chef of the Year for Chef Amrish Sood of Rang Mahal by Atul Kochhar, ProChef’s Meat Chef of the Year for Chef Tyson Podolski of Prime 68, Time Out Dubai’s Best New Bar for Vault and a number of Black Hat Guide and Cherry Pick awards for the hotels 9 authentic restaurants and 5 lounges.

The occupancy rates at JW Marriott Marquis Dubai were extremely high throughout 2013, making the first year of operation a resounding success. March 2014 witnessed the introduction of the iconic Tower 2, an additional 804 suites and rooms to be opened gradually throughout the year. Tower 2 will also feature 2 new food and beverage concepts on the 72nd floor, featuring panoramic views from the World’s Tallest Hotel.
