Sustainable Materials in Florence thanks to new MATREC center

THE EXCELLENCE OF SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS COMING IN FLORENCE. Opening of the new MATREC center. Environmentally sustainable materials that will characterize innovative projects for the next years will be available to companies, architects, designers and students from October 24th 2012, at the new building of the Industrial Design degree course at the University of Florence will be inaugurate in Calenzano. A global overview of materials for the design, construction, fashion and much more, from ECO-materials database MATREC (www.matrec.it), a reference point for eco-design and research materials eco-innovation. Plastic, paper, rubber, wood, jute, cotton, coconut, kenaf and many other types of materials, will be available to all designers to be touched and tested. The new MATREC center in Florence it is a collaborative project with the Florence University and the Experimental Forniture Center, the leader of the CENTO, Innovation Regional society for the interior forniture, already promoters of Green Home project that involve many Tuscan companies. "In a global market characterized by environmentally sustainable products, there is a necessity to support and guide all the companies to be more competitive. The opening of Matrec center it is a opportunity to develop eco-innovative projects in collaboration between students and companies. Since last September, Matrec has become an international platform with the objective to be the the refernce point of environmentally sustainable design.
