Great second row for Debise in the Superpole in Phillip Island

The World Supersport Championship officially got underway, with an immediately exciting Friday, also thanks to the holding - in line with the new format - of the first Superpole of the season. A Superpole where Debise and the Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha immediately shone, finishing fifth.

In the morning the first and only free practice session was staged, with Valentin author of 16 laps and owner of the 10th position, while in the afternoon it was time for the Superpole, lasting 40 minutes. Anticipating the arrival of the rain, Debise immediately took to the track in the hunt for a good time, and already achieved a time of 1'32"041 on lap 4, which earned him fifth place on the starting grid for Race 1.

Unfortunately in the second part of the session, complicated by the intermittent arrival of the rain, Debise crashed in turn 2, without suffering big consequences. Now everything is ready for the first race: tomorrow in fact at 10.30 local time Warm Up 1 will be staged, while at 14.30 local time the lights will go out for Race 1, lasting 18 laps. As a reminder, in order to avoid excessive tyre wear and thus safety issues, all riders must - by lap 10 - make a pit stop to change their tyres.

Valentin Debise
"Today we experienced the new Superpole for the first time, and overall I can say that things went well, despite the time attack being the most complicated moment of the weekend for me. We made good use of the time, anticipating the rain and setting a good time. Unfortunately in the second part of the session I crashed, but fortunately without any major damage, and in the final part the rain prevented everyone from improving. The balance of the day is positive, we are ready for the races".
