TRIENNALE MILANO - dal 19 al 21 sett - Fashion Issues: incontri con Pierre-Alexis Dumas, Demna, Federico Marchetti, Loris Messina e Simone Rizzo

In conjunction with Milano #fashion Week, from September 19 to 21, 2023, #triennale Milano is presenting three special public #events devoted to the world of fashion, focusing on the themes, challenges and transformations that the industry is facing today.

The #events are curated by Cathy Horyn, journalist and #fashion editor of The New York Magazine and The Cut, assisted by Marco Sammicheli, design, #fashion and craft curator and director of #triennale Milano’s Museo del Design Italiano, and Luca Stoppini, art director and member of the acquisitions advisory board of the Museo del Design Italiano.

The three #events will involve leading international figures from the sector, #fashion designers and entrepreneurs, bringing together different experiences and perspectives. The #events will reflect on sustainability and innovation, tradition and modernity, and the possibility of establishing links with other expressive languages and potential influences.

The guests at this cycle of meetings include Pierre-Alexis Dumas, artistic director at Hermès, Demna, creative director at Balenciaga (video interview), Federico Marchetti, entrepreneur and founder of YOOX, Loris Messina and Simone Rizzo from Sunnei, Massimiliano Giornetti, director of Polimoda, and Marina Testino, environmental activist.

The meeting will be moderated by Cathy Horyn and the editor Dan Thawley.

A conversation with #pierrealexisdumas – Hermès

Cathy Horyn will be in conversation with #pierrealexisdumas, artistic director at Hermès and a member of the founding family that has run the company for six generations. Dumas will be talking about how Hermès uniquely balances heritage and a true sense of modernity in design, as well as how it communicates its image and ideas.

Video interview with Demna – Balenciaga

A screening of an interview with Demna, the creative director of Balenciaga. Since joining Balenciaga in 2015, Demna has thoroughly modernized the historic House, and in the process shown what’s possible today in high #fashion. His work is diverse involving pop culture and technological innovation that included collaborations with the creators of The Simpsons and Crocs, as well Bang & Olufsen and Mercedes-AMGF1 Applied Science. At the same time, he has restored haute couture at Balenciaga—again, with a new vision about what that means.
