An agenda that’s music to your ears

On the 3rd, Agustí Burriel, one of the most renowned voices of swing and blues groups in our country, is offering a tribute to the acclaimed Frank Sinatra. Accompanied by a pianist, Agustí will breathe new life into the repertoire of Hoboken’s most famous son, with such memorable songs as “My way” or “New York, New York”.

The Boy from the South is presenting his new single, “Amazing-Man”, on 10 March. Those attending will be able to preview the video clip a week before the official release and listen to some of his best-known tracks live. On the 25th, Anacrusa Produccions will offer the stage show Les dues estacions de Vivaldi, which reflects on climate change through the use of three interconnected disciplines - music, dance and words. Four dancers, two musicians and a narrator perform an ode to nature through a poetic staging in which music and movement embrace each other to symbolise the loss of spring and autumn.

Literary novelties

On the 27th, poet and essayist Marta Sanz will present her new science fiction book Persianas metálicas bajan de golpe (Anagrama, 2023) at the next session of the “Literary Cafés” cycle. This dystopian story is set in the future world of Land in Blue, where an aging woman lives with a drone through which she has conversations with her friend Bibi, who is actually the voice of an actress. The woman lives in isolation, separated from her daughters Selva and Tina, who in turn are protected and watched over by another drone. Together with literary critic Jorge Carrión, the author will discuss how the genre of science fiction can be used to critically portray the present.
