The house of Martell unveils Martell Metaphore

This March, #martellmetaphore will be unveiled during the #mastersofwinesandspiritsevent in #singapore, an exceptional annual meeting of the world’s finest and rarest wines and spirits. An occasion to present a one-of-a-kind exclusive edition, that captures the heritage and craftsmanship of the House of #martell

THE EXCLUSIVE #martellmetaphore BLEND
In 1715, Jean #martell settled in #cognac, founding the oldest of the major #cognac houses. Throughout its 300-year history, the House of #martell has cultivated a heritage of #excellence and know-how, a spirit of curiosity and passion.

Inspired by Martell’s history, #christophevaltaud, the Cellar Master of the House created a unique #martell #cognac, from four exceptional eaux-de-vie which were preserved in the most prestigious cellar of the House, the Chai Jean #martell. The vintage eau-de-vie from 1898, masterpiece of Martell’s collection, was selected by #augustinchapeau, first Cellar Master of the House, from the personal vineyards of Madame #martell. This unique vintage is assembled with three eaux-de-vie aged from 1911 to 1920. The result is an invitation to explore the heart of the extraordinary #grandechampagneterroir. A secret recipe which reveals a refined and intense #cognac with notes of red fruits, almonds and pecans.

A PRECIOUS PIECE OF ART
To showcase this one-of-a-kind exclusive blend, a unique piece of art was created hand in hand with Les Grands Ateliers de France, which reunites the greatest French artisans. A four-year collaboration that highlights the House of Martell’s heritage of #excellence and unique know-how.

The brilliant savoir-faire and expertise of the region’s craftspersons combined with Martell’s hallmark gave life to a refined, elegant, dynamic case which incites curiosity and presents a unique #martell #cognac.

Inspired by Cognac’s countryside and terroir, the presentation case reflects the Grande Champagne’s curves, a modern reading of the region’s particular geography, interpreted by Thierry Drevelle, cabinetmaker and founder of the #ateliersdrevelle. The Jean #martell signature and the House’s beloved swift bird are in filigree and #martell signature blue has been redesigned in the tones and depth of Mireille Herbst’s lacquer. Fanny Boucher’s copper work enhances the material, while oak is in the heart of the creation; a precious piece of art that brings beautiful to life.

“A design that embodies the house’s values, between earth and sky, oak and time, with the suggestions of a color and the signature”
Thierry Drevelle – cabinetmaker and creator of the case.

ABOUT THE HOUSE OF MARTELL
Martell, the oldest of the great #cognac houses, was founded by Jean #martell in 1715 at the height of French art de vivre, when gastronomy, taste and craftsmanship were celebrated and enjoyed with style. These became the three pillars of the House of #martell and remain intrinsic to the #martell vision today. For three centuries, #martell has produced, exported and marketed cognacs which are recognized worldwide for their outstanding quality and finesse, obtained through double distillation of exclusively clear wines and aging in fine-grained oak casks.
