The young brand #kanz continues its #design research into materials and artisan production techniques. It presents new product colections that lie between the experimental and poetic.
PLANET COLLECTION
By definition a plate is a two-dimensional article. The #kanz Planet plate collection stretches beyond the imaginary to a third dimension, with three solid shapes that create the illusion of containing while preserving the nature of flat serving dishes.
On the table, these three 'monoliths' exalt the food served and act as the perfect 'display units' for the culinary works of art.

FUGU COLLECTION
The vase Fugu is part of the Ikebana flower-arranging project for beginners; it expresses a desire to confuse the boundaries of performance in a project where liberated emotions are released by the user's involvement. Pieces of developing architecture result, slim compositions in glass and metal that have the primary objective of enhancing the cut flowers. The #design of this vase has changed all the rules, and focuses on the concept of 'supporting' as opposed to the traditional demand for 'containing'. Local artisans were involved in the designs of Ikebana for beginners, to add eclectic contamination between contemporary #design and consolidated knowledge, blurring the boundaries between innovation and tradition.
