The Finer Details of Forever After: Have It All with a Four Seasons Resorts Maldives Destination Wedding

With three resort experiences – two islands and a luxury live-aboard – Four Seasons offers an ocean of options for Maldivian weddings.
Guests can book each Resort as a whole; wed on one then fly by seaplane to honeymoon on the other; or embark on a marital odyssey onboard Four Seasons Explorer: an 11-cabin, three-deck catamaran that cruises between the two Resorts on three-, four- and seven-night itineraries or private, customised charters.
Each Resort offers the personalised care of a Wedding Specialist and picture-perfect venues – including an Overwater Wedding Pavilion – alongside experiences ranging from sandbank dinners to surf and fishing trips for bachelor days with a difference.
But first, the Resorts themselves: Kuda Huraa’s magical garden surround infused with traditional charm features marine-inspired marvels against a backdrop of shimmering blue. The Night Spa redefines romance with its Secrets of the Sea ritual, performed for just one couple a night on a private spa island. Adrenalin and adventure come courtesy of shark safaris and excursions with Tropicsurf instructors. Further marine magic continues with the PADI 5-Star IDC Centre and the Maldives finest water villas, each with their own pool (all accessible from the bedroom).
Landaa Giraavaru’s wild natural beauty within the remote #baaatoll #unesco World Biosphere Reserve offers breathtaking venues from the jungle to a two-kilometre (1.25 mile) lagoon, including the #overwaterweddingpavilion, a mid-ocean structure, accessible only by a dhoni, with vaulted ceilings and a glass bottom aisle. Luxurious beach and water villas offer accommodation so vast that couples need never leave their room – other than to experience multi-award winning treatments, organic make-up offerings and #therossanoferrettisalon at The Spa & Ayurvedic Retreat, dine in one of eight restaurants and bars, or embark on a starlit cruise.
Forever After
Marriages between non-Muslims in the Maldives are not internationally recognised so legal arrangements need to be made in guests’ home countries. This, however, enables couples to plan a celebration that is unique to them, from sunset vows with an on-site celebrant to a blessing at sea, the underwater exchange of rings to a ceremony on a secluded sandbank. Four Seasons Wedding Specialists will go to any length to cater to individual wishes, working with each couple to customise every detail, from the point of booking to the time of departure – and, very often, beyond.
To further ease the worry of wedding planning, Kuda Huraa’s Maldivian Magical Weddings and Landaa Giraavaru’s Enchanted Weddings packages incorporate all the key components for before, during, and after the ceremony: spa treatments and flowers, cake and photography, romantic dining to in-room breakfast the following day. Representing great value, the package also exists as a starting point for many personalised add-ons. Basic inclusions extend to:

*Spa offerings vary at each Resort. At Kuda Huraa, bridal couples will receive a 150-minute Spa Ritual for two plus a 30-minute private yoga session. At #landaagiraavaru, they will receive a shared 2-hour spa treatment of their choice.
The wedding package is USD 3,500 (subject to 10 percent #service charge and all applicable taxes). Price and inclusions are subject to change without prior notice. A group accommodation rate is available for a minimum booking of 10 rooms for three nights or more at either Resort.
The Finer Details
Four restaurants at each Resort cater for everything from lavish poolside lunches to sandbank dinners, beach barbecues to overwater cocktail receptions. The pastry chefs will recreate any wedding cake request or surprise with their own decadent delights. Rehearsal dinners, hen parties, bachelor nights and day-after-the-night-before-breakfast menus feature alongside those customised for children and dietary needs. On-site florists wow with exceptional bouquets, boutonnières and wedding arches while bodu beru (big drum) performers are available to add a traditional touch. Couples can help the marine biologists plant a coral frame as a living symbol of their day, then track its growth online or return to see it on a special anniversary.
In addition to two sublime spas, recreation options across the Resorts range from X-Jetblades, Seabobs and parasailing to big game fishing, tennis and yoga. At Kuda Huraa, surfers of all levels can venture out with Tropicsurf coaches and guides, while both Resorts offer the full range of PADI dive courses alongside great snorkelling sites. Other activities include cooking and massage classes and all sorts of yoga. Both Resorts also run pioneering and award-winning coral, fish and turtle conservation programs from their Marine Discovery Centres, so bridal couples can play a part in preserving the fragile ecosystem simply by being there.
Honeymoon at Sea
There’s also the option to cruise on Four Seasons Explorer – a gorgeous 11-berth, three deck catamaran that sails between the two Resorts and on private charters. All-inclusive itineraries offer a minimum of three dives a day as well as the chance to snorkel, surf, water-ski, fish, kayak, spa, sail and castaway on uninhabited islands.
