How to drive safely through the winter

Car drivers should follow a few tips at the onset of the winter season. Not only is it essential to switch over to winter tyres for safety reasons, it can also be a legal requirement under certain road conditions. An ice scraper and de-icer should always be on-hand for a clear view. It is also advisable to have the starter battery and windscreen wipers checked. When the car is driven on a ski holiday, snow chains are essential equipment for the trip.
