El Dorado - City lost and found

The #piccionepiccione SS 2018 collection draws from the rich repository of inspiration within the exotic lands of Brazil, exploring its geographical and cultural contours on a journey replete with meaningful undertones. The creations of #salvatorepiccione accompany us on an adventurous and varied itinerary, exploring the many symbolic spirits of a country that is at once ancient and modern, to uncover an El Dorado with contemporary appeal.

The impetus behind the collection lies with one of the designer’s most cherished influences: nature in all its possible manifestations, which for this season is explored in the pure and untamed form of the Amazon rainforest. Colourful graphic prints teeming with tropical flora and fauna enliven fabrics, while exquisitely embroidered exotic flowers embellished with crystal dewdrops, silver sequins and Lurex yarns create a play of light that evokes gurgling waterways concealed by lush vegetation. The natural elements are expertly balanced and reworked through the brand's stylistic codes, which enable the unbridled force of wild nature to be subdued by combining it with delicate colours, such as silver and light dusty pink, or with more vibrant shades like bright orange, red and fuchsia, whose intensity is mellowed thanks to a more softly draping fit and silky fabrics.
