2017 Novelty Runabout: tribute to an elegant time

June 2017, Geneva – Frederique Constant launches two new Runabouts, paying homage to the graceful Riva boats of the 1920s where elegance and style ruled the social scene.

A Longstanding Partnership

In 2009, Frederique Constant debuted its collaboration with the Riva Historical Society alongside Piero Mario Gibellini and Carlos Riva whose sole purpose is to preserve the remaining Riva boats worldwide, and helping their owners safeguard their prized possessions in the best way possible. With the launching of these two new watches, Frederique Constant honors their commitment to preserving the Riva name and what it stands for.

From Sea to Land

In that same year, Frederique Constant launched its first #runabout timepiece named after the legendary #runabout yachts of the 1920s. Considered the European elite of Runabouts, the Riva Runabouts were originally small, fast and powerful and could welcome four to eight people; they were perfect for pleasure activities such as fishing, water sports or just cruising. Riva Runabouts are the ideal muse to draw inspiration from and design an elegant and stylish, Italian-inspired watch.
