The Dainese group receives three Red Dot Design awards

Vicenza, 11 April 2017 – The #dainese Group submitted concepts to the Red Dot #design Award, the renowned international competition for #design and innovation, and won three prestigious awards in the Product #design 2017 category for the Mugello R D-air® race suit, Pista GP R race helmet and Pro-Armor protectors.
From among 5,500 products submitted from 54 countries, the Red Dot #design Award panel – which recognises the world’s most original and innovative products – gave its seal of approval in the Product #design 2017 category to the new #dainese Mugello R D-Air® race suit, the innovative AGV Pista GP R helmet and the range of latest generation Pro-Armor protective products.
• Mugello R D-air® – The new #dainese professional suit is the state-of-the-art protective technology for use on the racetrack. With over 25 innovations and 5 new patents, including the latest evolution of the D-Air® airbag system, the new race suit, developed with Valentino Rossi’s valuable contribution, offers unprecedented protection and comfort levels, thanks to the application of an adaptive knee construction, high-performance pre-curved engineered fabrics, tri-axial elastic and a new elbow structure.
• Pista GP R – Designed in accordance with the AGV Extreme Standards development protocol, with the aim of guaranteeing a higher level of active and passive protection, the Pista GP R is the helmet of choice for #moto GP championship riders. Made in pure carbon fibre, the Pista GP R is characterised by superior visibility and aerodynamic performance thanks to its 190° field of vision and the new Biplano spoiler, created and tested in the wind tunnel. The helmet is also equipped with a built-in hydration system and the new IVS (Integrated Ventilation System) for unrivalled ventilation.
• Pro-Armor – The Pro-Armor protectors’ innovative #design takes inspiration from fractals, Nature’s way of creating complex structures. The fractal structure enhances the properties of the carbon-based elastomer, the system’s protective component, allowing it to absorb up to 83% of the force applied to the safety device in case of impact. This #design, with its extended perforated surface (43% of the back protector), works in perfect harmony with the protectors’ variable thickness providing excellent freedom of movement, maximum breathability, comfort and lightweight.
