Long Night at the Mercedes-Benz Museum under an auspicious star: Thrills until way past the witching hour

Star gazing, party and poetry slam plus interactive exhibition "EY ALTER": This and much more besides is on offer from the Mercedes-Benz Museum at the Long Night of Museums on 25 March 2017. The programme spanning twelve hours in total kicks off at 4 p.m. with activities for children. Both the museum and the special exhibition "EY ALTER" are open until 2 a.m. The museum and bigFM invites visitors to celebrate at the "AfterParty" until 4 a.m.

Stars in and over Stuttgart plus slam poetry

Stuttgart. The Long Night of Museums on 25 March 2017 has both for the visitors to experience: Mercedes stars on the vehicles, and the stars in the firmament can – providing the weather is good – be discovered looking through the Stuttgart observatory’s telescope on the roof of the museum. From 7 p.m. to 1.30 a.m., a look through the telescope will reveal the night sky above Stuttgart and the view from the roof terrace (42 metres high) a panorama of the city.

The activities on offer at the museum also include the "2nd Best of Slam". From 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., many of Germany’s best slam poets will be guesting here, among them #davidfriedrich, #nektariosvlachopoulos, #samuelkramer, #floriwintels, Filo and #volkerstrubing. The "Best of Slam" will be held in the large hall on Level 1.

Programme for children and commuting in classic vehicles

For the youngest visitors, the Long Night of Museums starts in the afternoon. Children from 3 years are invited from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. to take part in the interactive exhibition "Design Fascination". This is where they can implement their own ideas for creating future vehicles with various materials. Every half an hour there will be an interactive museum rally for children from 8 years, plus there will be children’s tours for visitors aged 6 to 8 years (4.15 and 4.45 p.m.). The VfB mascot "Fritzle" will also be making a guest appearance at the museum from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The evening programme at the Mercedes-Benz Museum continues at 7.30 p.m.. The Württemberg #automotive Club will once again be offering its "rolling museum" from 7.30 p.m. until midnight: in classic vehicles, the Long Night of Museums guests can commute between the Mercedes-Benz Museum, Porsche Museum and Stuttgart’s Schlossplatz.

EY ALTER – strengths instead of stereotypes

The special exhibition "EY ALTER – You can find out about yourself" and the permanent exhibition at the Mercedes-Benz Museum will be open until 2 a.m. (final lift operated at 01.30 a.m). The interactive experience "EY ALTER" offers 20 hands-on stations with exciting approaches to the subject of demography. Visitors can discover themselves and their strengths here.

The exhibition at the Mercedes-Benz Museum can be discovered by the Long Night of Museums guests in various ways, including 75-minute tours of the museum. These are on offer from 7:30 to 10.30 p.m.. Registration takes place directly at the museum.

AfterParty – celebrate at the Mercedes-Benz Museum

In the arcade on level 0 there will be dancing and celebrations at the longest party of the night. In cooperation with the radio station bigFM, the museum cordially invites guests to the AfterParty from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.. At 3.35, 3.55, 4.15 and 4.35 a.m. shuttle buses will be running from the Mercedes-Benz Museum to Karlsplatz.
