Mercedes-Benz Vans: The Nobis Printen bakery in Aachen trusts in Mercedes-Benz Sprinter for the delivery of its traditional Christmas cookies

  • Aachen-based bakery has relied on Mercedes-Benz vans for 30 years
  • Sprinter fleet covers 260 000 kilometres each year, and is constantly on the road before Christmas
  • Annual production of 250 tons for company-owned bakeries and private customers throughout the world

Aachen – At Christmas time it would be unthinkable for most to celebrate without the famous Printen cookies from Aachen. Which is why nothing must be left to chance in the supply chain leading up to Christmas. And that is why for 30 years, the traditional bakery Nobis Printen has relied on a fleet of Mercedes-Benz vans to deliver its world-famous cookies. Currently 17 Sprinter, two of them panel vans and 15 with box bodies, ensure a smooth flow of supplies for the 40 company-owned bakeries and shops in the Aachen region.

The family business, which was founded in 1858 and is now managed by Michael Nobis, has an annual Printen production of around 250 tons. Apart from the company-owned shops, another 20 or so customers are supplied with this treat. Strictly spoken, Printen are winter cookies. However, nowadays they are in season all year round. In addition to its German business, Nobis Printen supplies customers all over the world. Parcels filled with the bakery's speciality are despatched all the way to Japan, Brazil, the USA and Australia. Demand increases enormously around Christmas.

In total the fleet covers around 260 000 kilometres each year. Thanks to the constant presence of these vans around the city and its surroundings, a close relationship has grown between the bakery and its customers: "In the early morning, #people who have stayed out all night are often supplied with our bakery products straight from the van", says proprietor Michael Nobis.

Printen and the Sprinter – a matter of trust

Printen are a matter of the heart and trust for the inhabitants of Aachen. Which is why the Sprinter ideally suits the concept of Nobis: "We have relied on the Sprinter for the last 20 years because we appreciate the high quality, the technical features and the value retention", says Michael Nobis. The vans bearing the #mercedes star score highly in the hectic day-to-day business: "The Sprinter are very agile in city traffic, easy to drive and extremely dependable. The service is also first-class."

The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter: excellent #van for more than 20 years

The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is synonymous with vans around 3.5 tons gross vehicle weight und impresses with its outstanding versatility: compact, standard, long, extra-long – with four length variants, three wheel bases and three different roof heights no wish remains unfulfilled. In spring 2016 the Sprinter range was extended by a version with 5.5 tons gross vehicle weight. Since the Sprinter has been launched in 1995, it constantly redefined the large-van segment around the world. More than three million sold Sprinter give proof of this. Meanwhile the Sprinter is available in more than 130 countries.
