METZELER launches NATURAL BORN LADY RIDER: a campaign dedicated to proud female motorcyclists

The initiative begins in Milan from November 7th to 9th with a 48 hour non-stop movie marathon focused on lady bikers and will continue throughout 2017

Munich (Germany), 2 November 2016 – METZELER continues its journey on two wheels in the movie world, announcing for this year a 48 hour movie marathon during EICMA week, the International Cycle and Motorcycle Exhibition in Milan. It runs from Monday, November 7, at 8:30 PM at the Deus Leica Theatre, 3, Thaon di Revel str. in Milan.

Last year METZELER presented in the same location the “48h on the Road”, the first of a series of initiatives related to the METZELER ROADTEC™ 01 launch, the new sport touring tyre, which finished with Take the Road™ movie premiére. This short film narrates in 10 minutes the journey from Milan to Biarritz, undertaken by three photographers and a special bike equipped with Metzeler tyres. The movie, made with the collaboration of Deus Ex Machina and Leica support, was presented at the Motorcycle Film Festival in New York last September as a world preview.

The second edition of the movie marathon will be titled Natural Born Lady Rider and it will be the first of many activities promoted by Metzeler throughout 2017 in order to pay homage to the family of female motorcyclists. It recognizes women of any age and social backgrounds, who defy adversity just to ride their motorcycle with determination, talent and femininity, as they feel a strong attraction to two wheels, and its lifestyle.

Women will also be the protagonists of all the films that will be shown on the screen of Deus Leica Theatre until 8:30 PM on November, 9th: from a carefully chosen selection managed by Rodaggio Films. They include more than twenty titles coming from all over the world, such as Klocked: Women with horsepower or Robin’s Road Trip, directed by the photographer Robin de Puy. You can also review some black and white vintage movies, such as Tunnel of Love, or other important titles like the famous A girl on a motorcycle, a 1968 movie with Alain Delon among the main actors, or like Qui comincia l’avventura, with famous actress Monica Vitti as a lady rider.

The three evenings will also have several themes, all related on women and motorcycling: on Tuesday, November 8, we will have some special guests such as Ken Fox’s Wall of Death girls, three of whom are Daredevil women, while on Wednesday, November 9, numerous international guests related to the racing world will attend the closing evening.

See you at the event at 3,Thaon di Revel street on November, 7th at 8:30 PM, or of course, on your travels around the world, because every motorcycle trip deserves to turn into an adventure epic.
