CCN and Floating Life join efforts to design the ‘Commander’ a 42.5 m Explorer motor yacht

Carrara-based CCN-Cerri Cantieri Navali and Swiss headquartered Floating Life have recently joined their large expertise in shipbuilding, #yacht design and management to work on a brand-new 42.50 m vessel.

This steel #yacht, strengthened to fit the “Light Ice class” and featuring an aluminium superstructure, has been developed starting from the tested hull of the K40, engineered by Studio Sculli and currently under construction in the Carrara shipyard.

Its outer lines too, have been pencilled by Studio Sculli and are extremely modern and aggressive also thanks to the extensive use of glazed surfaces, which result in a bold, contemporary-style #yacht. “The design of the C415 – explains Mauro Sculli – is what I would call ‘transversal’. i.e. a compromise between different types of yachts, mainly an #explorer and a traditional, modern craft, combined with the wish to include elements that would immediately and clearly reflect CCN’s distinctive style”.

The interior layout features several innovative solutions and has been conceived to offer guests the utmost comfort thanks to spacious interior and exterior volumes, and large relaxation and sunbathing areas.

The Owner has available an entire deck, featuring, besides the master suite, a private pool at the bow. A second infinity edge pool for guests can be found aft on the upper deck. The main deck layout is quite original too, with the dining room located forward and connected to an outdoor lounge area. Conceived to meet a wide range of needs, this deck is extremely versatile: the aft area is used to store a large 10 m tender and water toys, but can also be easily converted into a pleasant conversation area.

There are also several areas devoted to well-being at the stern of the lower deck, the latter hosting 4 cabins. A spacious beach-club with a bar and conversation area complete the ‘comfort zone’ reserved for guests on this deck.

The crew quarters and the galley are large and comfortable, making this #yacht ideal also for long- range cruises.

The bottom deck, which extends uninterruptedly from stern to bow, features the technical areas, a cold room, and the laundry. A side access ensures easy galley supplies loading operations.
Great care has also been devoted to the yacht’s eco-friendliness, and a bi-fuel solution is currently being explored.

The #commander 415 will be powered by 2 CAT C32 ACERT engines, allowing it to reach a maximum speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots. Perfect vessel for long-distance cruising, the C415 can boast an impressive range of 5,400 miles at cruising speed.

“Our success with the M/Y K40 encouraged us to develop this new project, of which we are very proud, in cooperation with Floating Life. This #yacht stands out for a number of modern, innovative

solutions – comments CCN’s CEO Diego Deprati - and I am confident it will be welcomed by the market just as it deserves".

Andrea Pezzini – Floating Life’s CEO – adds: “As for the K Series #yacht we are currently building, on this project too we have been focusing our attention on system efficiency and easy maintenance. We have deployed all our management expertise into the main characteristics that our customers have been asking for in our 16-year experience in this sector. Moreover, we have tried to make this project extremely versatile and able to cruise in any and all sea and weather conditions. The experience we gained building the M/Y K40 proved that we share with #ccn common objectives, great care for product quality, and the same ethics and working philosophy towards our customers”.
